I bought my first inline skates in Melbourne in a fire sale at a local skate shop. I think this was somewhere around 1996-1998. There was local flooding of the store which caused some of my eyelets to be a tad rusty, hence a good discount. I think I paid around $300 for these and for ABEC3 bearings which were supposed to be better than standard. I knew very little about skate technology back in these days. I found these quite uncomfortable to wear and I wasn’t really emotionally attached to these as I thought the three strap design that my mate got was cooler. I probably only used these skates for a total of 20 hours. A few years later I tried to get back into skating but was horrified to find that the plastic had perished to such a degree that the boots literally could be pulled apart to pieces with my bare hands. I wonder whether I would have kept skating should I have had a better experience with these Roces Skates. The photo below is the only pic I could find online that shows the model and color that I had. Interesting to note that with these I never rotated the wheels, or even removed the brake.
